You read that right folks , I wonder if there will be fat ,and when I say fat I mean like blob from marvel, kingpin from marvel and such body types like that now I know clipping could be a problem I just want to know if we will be able to give them some weight
p.s When I say fat I mean sumo fat or round shaped.

There IS a lot of precedent for this in comics.
I like to make some of my high-powered guys stocky--not fat, but barrel shaped--a la Kirby's big boys like Darkseid and Odin.
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
Let's not forget The Blimp, from "The Inferior Five".
*SPOILER ALERT*
Dumb Bunny from "The Inferior Five" was actually Mockingbird in "The Secret Six"! ((Sorry for the spoiler!))

You're correct. Athena Tremor is Angel O'Day's half-sister.

Fat characters are a must.
I don't get mad, I restructure the laws of quantum physics and resolve the situation with temporal engineering.
It has come up a couple of times before, and from what I remember hearing we should have body options beyond just heroic/super model, including fat.

A fat body would have suited my only male character "Irritated Plumber", a war mace brute with a monkey wrench. I used the giant male body for him, with all slider's maxed, a tank top white shirt & jeans, and a stubbly scowling face, with a cigar.
He was natural origin, completely normal, just very irritated.

I think we definitely need to add the "Arthur Build"

My favorite character from back when I used to play the Heroes Unlimited pen-and-paper RPG was a cyborg named "Potbelly Bob". He had cybernetic arms and legs that did most of the work for him, and consequently got very little actual cardiovascular exercise despite being able to run as fast as a race car, and found it nearly impossible to keep his torso in shape. Having that kind of body shape available would be awesome.
This could be especially good for a Mission Creator that may come to be. Enemies like Kingpin or Blob could be done, and imagine the satire :p

I would be all for this even excited about it, IF it was done right. Fat doesn't necessarily mean unfit, even characters like the kingpin have a certain power behind their frame. I know this might be nit-picky but if they do allow for a fat build I would want something like that. So I can not only make a fat hero but also feel heroic while playing him as-well. Something that could still feel strong and even heroic despite its weight like a sumo wrestler or the king pin, Don't say its not realistic either, my family is full of people with hefty powerful builds. Otherwise its a nice feature but not as cool as it could be. Its fine for a joke, but a joke isn't all it has to be.
Good is not something you are, its something you do.
Anyone who's played football (like my 5'7" 135 lb lineman self) knows that fat does not mean slow, weak, or otherwise unformidable!

5'7 135 Ib's you must be in constant danger of being crushed to death on that field! Cant say much though I'm HUGE and would likely get killed on a touch football field.
Good is not something you are, its something you do.
There's honestly no way to reply to that

Sorry. Thought I was being funny.

If you allow fat, please have a "really bad combover" hair option for males.

The very existence of the taunting tank irritates, for it requires idiotic AI that obeys the taunt.
Somehow, I think fat characters would be right at home as some of the mightiest heroes and villains in CoT. Maybe it's the fact that muscleguts are badass, it's a sign that you don't even need to lift a finger to pwn someone, or because Far-Eastern-themed gods (in mythology or video games) are stereotypically portrayed as such. Either way, I'm all for this.

I am hugely* in favor of fat character concepts in superhero games (or fantasy, sci-fi, or anything else really). My biggest* concern about them however is that there is a tendency for the sliders that control body size to stretch clothing/armor in ways that ruin the effect. This happened a lot with Jackets in CoH, where a big belly couldn't be made to mesh with the rest of the body, and sent the edges of the jacket standing out at weird angles.
*Sorry, bad puns are sometimes an enormous* problem, but they seemed to within the scope of this subject.
For what it's worth the Unreal Engine 4 (the main graphics engine CoT will be using) is far more capable than CoH's graphics were in terms of body/clothing animations. What that means for us is that it should be more possible (likely?) that we would be able to have at least "Arthur" sized characters (see Wolf Shadow's post earlier in this thread) in CoT than we ever would have been able to have under CoH's system. The key here is that clothes can actually "drape/shift" over shapes in UE4 rather than just being sort of "glued" onto body surfaces - that should greatly reduce the specific problems you mentioned.
It'd probably still be hard to have super-blob type fatness without its own dedicated body model, but I'm hoping semi-chubby bodies will be within the realm of possibility using the main male/female body models the Devs are currently working on.

If clipping is a major problem then I would even be cool with fat/rotund chars having there own, but simplified set of costume options. After all I don't really want to put a bunch of armor and stuff on there body because I want to see there plumpness. So as long as I can still pick patterns on tights, wear a cape and have a decent selection of facial costume parts i'm good.

Clipping, in the APEX system with UnrealEngine4, will not be an issue.
Building those models and costuming them so the design lines aesthetically work for even large models (and that movement physics look good without poking fun at or disrespecting the model) will be somewhat more difficult.
Crowd Control Enthusiast
Well I think we can poke some fun a being fat. I don't see it any different than over exaggerating muscles or females breasts. As far as the clipping goes for Unreal engine 4 I think that's great.

Me want fat! Yes, I've wanted to make many of my tanks from CoH fat...like Blob fat. It would be a nice option, but not a requirement. I would imagine it'll be an option.
necro thread-rez and all, I have always wanted this to be a thing. Please add this as an optional body type or slider thang to the costume creator - double-plus-one
thank you very much
There's a very simple reason for making "portly people" a possibility with the Costume Creator. It allows reuse of the exact same character models when making chubb-chubb Civilians. That way you don't need to use two separate systems for making fat people because the "hero" system won't allow it.

I certainly agree that a wide range of body types should be available but fat people were available in COH. They just weren't easy, and didn't have a wide variety of customizations available. Here's a picture of a villain I made named Gluttony from the Seven Deadly Sins

and here he is with the whole group

Can you tell which is which? Hint the last one is their boss satan
Anyway I never found a way to make a large lady. And I'd like some other body forms as well like 4 legged including dragons & centaurs.

OMG! A fat female sonic blaster!
Battle Cry: "It ain't over till I sing, baby!"
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
Alright I think I know, the first one is gluttony because you said so, the next one is greed because he has money all around him (nice use of the tarot aura by the way), the next one is lust because it's always stereotyped that lust is a hot babe in revealing clothing, the next one is pride because he looks fancy, the next one is wrath because he's an angry dude with fire hands, the next one is envy because she's green, and the one after that is sloth because ice powers make people slower and he looks really icy

You got them all right.
But my image for lust isn't a very popular stereotype.
I've more often seen lust depicted as a lecherous old man or a goat man.
I used a hot chick partly because: I more than one female character and I couldn't find the right facial expression to do it as a male.
Sloth actually had illusion powers to represent dreams. Both sleeping dreams and dreams unfulfilled because of our failure to act
I used these characters in a mission I created called Dark Night of the Soul.
The contact was a pile of bones, identified as the relics of Saint John of the Cross.
The text explained that the mission was a symbolic vision you had while meditating on the bones.
Saint John of the Cross was inside the mission as an NPC and Spiritual guide.
After fighting each of the Seven Deadly sins and then Satan, Pride would return congratulating you on you success, and praising your name.
Satan was actually the toughest foe because he had Demon Summoning and Pain Domination all maxed out and a bunch of spawns around him, but the final battle with pride was important.
When pride was defeated again the mission was over and the relics of Saint John would remind you that victory over sin always leads to another battle with sin. The fight doesn't end until we reach our final reward and only those who endure to the end will be saved.
