I'm already a fan...

Hello everyone!

I played City of Heroes since early 2005 until 'sunset' (if such a gentle word could be applied to what was the avoidable demise of such a classic game). I remember my first character, a katana/regeneration scrapper called Cherubim, I remember just getting instant healing and powering through missions as an unstoppable force - for 3 hours before the update nerfed it. I remember being such a newbie that I thought you could only slot one of a type of enhancement in each power and running around with acc/dam/rech/end redux SO's in each power until I met an energy blaster that was destroying my damage output just by looking at things. I remember when *shudders* PVP was implemented, updated, reworked, updated, reworked, destroyed and then had content added to it's husk. I also remember with great fondness the costume contests held in Atlas Plaza, and winning my first costume contest for 200k influence - and considered myself gloriously rich at that stage. I remember running Atta's cave mission for the first time with a full team, getting destroyed by the Calibans and Ogres, and finally grabbing the win by smacking Atta's dirty troll face into the ground.

I remember all these things because they made me feel happy, I remember them because they were some of the best moments in the game for me - I remember them because they were ultimately the most important times I had in the game, and made me look anew at the game after. I l0v3d City of Heroes - and for that Missing Worlds and the Phoenix project have my respect. People who l0v3d the game as much, if not more than me - who miss it so much that they're willing to put hard time, effort and money into that l0v3 to bring it back. Although I can't offer monetary support - dear god I want to, if only to rub it in NCsoft's face - I offer my support in this superhero themed monologue (I thought monologues were for the evils?):

No matter what the past may have done to us, we still remember. We still remember and that image, that one defining moment that changed gaming history for us, that image that was lost, instead of pushing us down like the villains would have wanted instead renews us, and makes us strong. You all have an opportunity - an opportunity to do something good, to do something that will shine brightly, that will blind and scour the evils of this world away - that will change the lives of citizens everywhere, so stay strong Phoenix Project, stay strong and rise from the ashes! Sweep them away and soar!

P.s. Villains smell.

Hey! Some of us villains

Hey! Some of us villains shower daily and maintain high standards of cleanliness! Even my undead minions are regularly de-odorized!

That's an unkind way to talk about the other members of the project team :) even if some of them have been acting like zombies immediately post kickstarter

Well, thankfully you're all

Well, thankfully you're all telecommuting, so any brain nomming that goes on will only mildly hamper the project.

The downside is that the only warning you get of the approaching zombie horde is that the forums get quieter, and quieter...
