As such, his binding severely restricts his mental abilities and any attempts at overuse causes him great pain. From nosebleeds to even a week long coma, any strain on his mind causes him suffering.

Origin: Cyrus Deacon, a born and bred citizen of Titan City, was always fascinated by the prospect of superpowers. His childhood walls adorned with posters and pictures of the various costumed crimefighters, shelves filled with comics and novels about every hero and villain the imagination could inspire. Cyrus loved it all. That passion for power led him to write his first novel at 21, "Turning on the Lights: What to do with the Power you wield". In it, he discussed the origins of superpowers, claiming that there have been more than two ages of powers than the world knew. Calling them "Excelsior Events", Cyrus detailed accounts through history that supported there were smaller bursts of super human occurrences, from the survival of the human race after the ice age via pyro kinetics and glacial controllers, to the Revolutionary war ("13 colonies of sickly men dying of plague and pox repel an entire British navy full of healthy and strong men? Not without some seriously super powered colonists!") o even as late as April 28, 2004 (wink, wink). Cyrus even claimed to be able to create an algorithm that could accurately predict the next event, which was June 3rd, 2006. He marked his calendar and eagerly awaited the day so he could bear witness to his own event and meet the future heroes of Titan City.

On the morning of June 3rd, Cyrus awoke with a terrible headache. Dismissing it, he made his way to City Hall, where new heroes were to register immediately upon discovering their abilities. Upon arriving around noon, he found a large crowd of people waiting, clapping and chanting his name. His algorithm worked! Hundreds of people awoke that day with powers and it was all thanks to him that they were prepared. The mayor declared it "Awakening Day" for the city and Centurion, Cyrus' favorite hero, invited the young author up to the podium to shake hands with the first newly registered hero that emerged. Cyrus raced up the steps, both heart and head pounding. As he ascended the final step, he heard something in his head snap and he collapsed. As his vision blurred and the crowd swarmed him for his well being, he glimpsed two figures exit the building. One was a city official. The other was a ten year old girl with skin as dazzling as diamonds. Cyrus smiled, knowing that girl had a long and wondrous future ahead of her and everything went black.

Cyrus awoke a week later in Titan General hospital on Phoenix Hill. To his surprise, Centurion was there waiting. He explained to Cyrus that something wonderful had happened to him. Cyrus had not only predicted the Awakening, but that he himself was a part of it. Cyrus Deacon had developed mental abilities. Cyrus was overjoyed. Centurion assured him that as soon as he was cleared by the doctors, Cyrus could register at City Hall and become an official member of the Legion. Centurion left Cyrus to his happiness, designing a costume, thinking up names and practicing with his powers.

As Centurion visited the young man over the passing days, he discovered Cyrus' condition did not get better. Some days he would seem completely fine, levitating pudding cups, reading the nurse's minds, creating psionic barriers to keep his food parted. Some days, Cyrus would be completely comatose, muttering Pi to it's 564,894th place, screaming about natural disasters that hadn't happened yet and pushing mental blasts into the wall and cracking it. The doctors claimed that Cyrus' brain could not handle his new powers and he would soon die. Centurion took it upon himself to deliver the news. He expected the young man to cry, or deny the truth. He didn't expect Cyrus to giggle and call the doctors "dumbos".

Cyrus revealed that he had already known about his condition and devised a neural inhibitor system that could suppress his mental growth while still enabling him to keep some of his abilities. The inhibitor called for two technological mind spikes and a rare isotope from the Tunguska meteor to neutralize the Zeta waves in his brain from expanding. Centurion would have it made by Titan's brightest and bring it back here to be surgically implanted into Cyrus. Centurion obliged, getting the spikes from Helix's R&D and the isotope from ChemiCo. With the inhibitor in hand, Centurion raced back to the hospital, hoping it wasn't too late. But what he found waiting for him, he still wishes he had been.

In Centurion's absence, Cyrus had a terrible reaction and was convulsing wildly. His eyes had rolled into his head and he was screaming in pain. His mind had a massive spike in growth and now he was dying. Cyrus implored Centurion to implant the spikes into his skull, saying there was no time to get him to surgery. Cyrus begged Centurion to end his pain. Centurion, in the midst of the madness, contemplated simply letting the young man die, rather than continue living in this pain. At the last moment, Centurion plunged the spikes into Cyrus, saving him. Cyrus survived, but soon disappeared from the hospital. Centurion looked everywhere for his friend, but it seemed the hopeful hero had vanished for good.

November 11th, 2009. Around 2:43 p.m a broadcast appeared all over Titan City. Cyrus, having managed to hijack the city's television network, broadcast his image throughout the city. He went into a calm but angry rant about the city and it's heroes, citing that he had had a vision of Titan City in flames as their heroes looked on and watched. Cyrus claimed he would spare the citizens that dark fate and proceeded to kill one third of the population. Over 200,000 people: heroes, villains, men, women and children fell over dead from brain hemorrhages. Cyrus stated that he would return the next day to finish what he started, citing mental exhaustion from such a feat. Centurion, however, tracked Cyrus to an abandoned warehouse in Steelville and the pair began a titanic fight. It was only after Centurion revealed that one of the heroes that died was a young girl named Diamond Doll, that Cyrus surrendered. He begged Centurion to kill him for his crime, but Centurion refused, telling Cyrus that his punishment was to live with that.

Cyrus was tried and found Guilty by reason of insanity. He was moved to St. Marcelle's in 2010 and spent the next four years inside an isolated ward all his own. His mind unraveled from grief and guilt and he soon reached a dark epiphany. He decided that since the world wanted him to be a villain, he would gladly accept that role. He trained his remaining abilities, still limited by the neural spikes. When a group of aspiring villains, hired by Doctor Death Mask to free Cyrus, Cyrus gladly joined them, laying waste to the ward that confined him and begin his new life as the dangerous criminal mind, Psikon...

OOC Notes: Hello! I'm Psikon, though on the Heroes and Villains forum I am Lore Writer Volunteer Helix_Group! I imported this profile from the HaV forums for the roleplay here as I intend to enjoy CoT as much as I do with HaV. Just a few quick notes here.

1. The Origin is written in context that Psikon is a signature Villain in HaV. Over here, I treat him as a displaced villain who was dropped into your universe and seeks to either return home or leave your universe a smoldering pile of ash. Whichever comes first. :)

2. Here in CoT, his crossing has severely limited his powers. He only possesses his five natural abilities of Telepathy, Telekinesis, Psionic Barrier, Levitation and Enhanced Intellect. Any attempts to access his mass Neural Hemorrhage, mind control or any other mental feats prove useless.

3. His time here is set after he has become a full time super villain in HaV and, pending development for both projects, will be considered non canon to HaV and his origin will be modified for CoT canon for the game when it goes live, unless the lore devs here would like to collaborate a crossover event for both games (Hint hint, if any of you are reading this)

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you on the streets of Titan!

(Unless I'm playing as Psikon, then you better pray he doesn't see you. Muwahahahahahaha!)

Good Morning Starshine. The Earth says Hello!
