Greetings, Titans!

As we enter into the last few months of the year, it’s time again for our quarterly update.

Here’s three things we’ve been working on throughout Q3.

First off is the most important one: A functioning build in Unreal 5.6. This is where the most time and effort is going, as the most hinges on this. Once we have a functioning 5.6 build, we’ll be able to begin integrating online play. Our servers are standing by, development environments are ready, we just need that 5.6 build.

The main challenge delaying this is that some of the bugs we’re trying to work out are tied to the map and, as a result, are loaded with references to other objects. While this isn’t technically complex to unwind, it is rather time consuming.

Second, we’ve continued to improve the AI of in-game enemies. You may recall some samples from our 2024 Development Roundup showing off enemy behavior, and we’re continuing to build on what was seen there. We’re excited to have a 5.6 build so you all can start play testing this and giving us feedback!

Finally, we’re continuing to implement and then polish the backend systems that calculate the various parts of combat. We’ve given a very basic look at it in previous videos, and our goal is to have something more engaging and compelling by the time we have a 5.6 build finish.

Despite the monotonous nature of the work, it continues to get done with the hope of delivering a new, playable build as soon as we can. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
