Greetings Titans!
As we approach the end of June, it’s time for our next quarterly update. Let’s take a look at what we’ve been up to during Q2!
First off, we’re nearing a new build of the game in Unreal Engine 5.6 that includes a larger number of behind-the-scenes improvements, including a new rendering pipeline. This will include a reduction in the required graphical power and our lead city developer reports his frame rate nearly doubling in most areas of the city. There’s a few other small city detail and animation-related things going in as well, we’re excited for you to see it all!
Second, once this new build is ready, we’ll be able to start working towards our next really big step, online play! Getting to this step is actually a big part of what we’ve done this last quarter. We have a new server ready to go, a new development environment has been set up for the folks involved with this step, and the expectation is that, once we have that new 5.6 build ready, we can actually start assembling all these pieces we’ve gathered for online play. Many of those pieces are ready to be plugged in, as soon as the 5.6 update is ready.
To be honest, we had hoped to have this update ready and out for you to try by now, but our volunteer workforce has had to continue their work alongside some life challenges, slowing progress down a bit. Nevertheless, work is ongoing and we’re eager to have online elements ready for you as soon as possible.
