Hello, everyone. In the spirit of transparency and speaking of what is done, the following is a message from William 'Robin' Strickland, the director of composition for Missing Worlds Media.
Most of our work since the Kickstarter has been spent on fleshing out the game world, ensuring that there will be plenty of room in it for the players, and plenty for them to interact with once they're there. We have the thirteen districts slated for launch, dotted with landmarks and completed to the point where they await only population and visual expression, the latter of which we are working with other departments to provide. We were going to launch with twelve districts, but due to hitting a stretch goal during the Kickstarter event (we love you guys!), a thirteenth district, Rhinehart Park, was added.
We have forty-five factions currently ready for launch, as well; these have been carefully revised and elaborated upon, and we now feel them ready for use. I admit we’ve been having some fun with the factions, from heroic bunches like the Arcane Sentinels and the C.A.P., rapscallions like the Aether Pirates, Weird Sisters and ePunk Radicals, and villainous groups such as the Apkallu, the Black Rose and the Five Dragons. We expect that more factions will eventually be created to go alongside these, as we learn more about what we can do in the engine (ever a source of pleasant surprises) and also find niches we didn't know we were craving to fill.
The next step for us is to complete the assorted teams and solo characters that are found everywhere in the setting. This is no small task as there's quite a few of these, but we have been making excellent progress so far, and I'm confident we will take care of these in good time. Once we have the actors all named, fleshed out and ready to get on stage, we will then begin to write up the many, many stories that will fill the setting, and which we hope you will enjoy.
A note to prospective writers: we are currently full up on actual content writers. We are, however, looking for people to work on editing and localization, and applications for those positions are open to any who wish to apply.
For everyone, be sure to look for the upcoming lore updates! We’ve got bits on the writing process, a description of how the law gets along with superpowered individuals in the setting ( and how it sometimes doesn’t ), and of course there’s always little extra bits from the Cabbie.
And remember: anyone can make it in Titan City!
