Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

When the character creator is released...

Lets have a monthly costume contest!

the winner will get a badge to use here in the forums...or a free coupon to buy costumes with in the game store.

I hate to say, but my Black Falcon will with the very first one. But that's OK, I'll sit out the next one.

Or you could give out a pretty decent prize and get some real publicity with the contest...
decent prizes
a years free play
6 months free play
3 months free play

Character on a billboard for 6 months
3 extra slots for in game use
Player immortalized as an NPC selling hot dogs from a stand.

Why we need rewards? Face it

Why we need rewards? Face it we going to be spamming pics anyway might as well do it with some organization.

I'm going to happy just to

I'm going to happy just to get the costume tool. I hope they get it rolled out before the end of 2015.

I'm arbitrarily expecting (yes I know that's a fairly "loaded" word but that's the word I'm going with) that by the end of 2015 they will have at least the first beta version of the costume app ready to go, even if it barely works and only has a dozen costume items total. I really, really do not think that should be too much to ask for at this point. Obviously if it's any more capable than that by the end of December then all the more appreciated.

As far as having organized forum-based costume contests I have no problem with that as long as the "prizes" are simple and non-permanent. Keep it to things like a free month's of play time or a few months of a character on an in-game billboard. There should NOT be anything like badges or free character slots.

Prizes that have any kind of

Prizes that have any kind of monetary value for costume contests just seems greedy to me. I could see something like a free costume piece unlock or a free taylor session, which I expect could be grinded for by playing, but not play time or anything "valuable".

I don't expect to need ANY

I don't expect to need ANY 'incentive' to play the Avatar Builder.

I wasn't thinking of keeping

I wasn't thinking of keeping the creator just with us. I was thinking of using it for free advertising. Lure the hardcore gamers to us. Inflaming the imaginations of the public and turning the game into a huge moneymaker for CoT.

Things like a month's free subscription are for advertising to the gaming public. The character creator is something no other game has, we can win hearts and minds with this.

I certainly see that

I certainly see that opportunity. I also see that No Other Game has a free-standing Costume/Avatar Creator. There are some 'paper-doll type' avatar creators, but as far as I know, none of them are 3D and none of them can be realized as an actual character in a game, like City of Titans.

Let word-of-mouth and Massively provide the initial boost, then MWM can use the character-creator as a central display for a few presentations at Cons and the thing will, naturally, explode all over the internet. Concerted marketing and advertising can wait until there is a game to play.

At least, that's what my child-of-a-marketing-exec instincts tell me.

If that's your angle, I would make it something more like "Win the costume contest and get some sort of extra perk unlocked automatically when you buy the game." That perk being some kind of costume-related thing maybe or a prestige travel power some such.

Saints Row IV release a stand alone costume creator before the release of the game called the Inauguration Station. It allowed players to create a character from scratch or import one from a previous Saints Row game and update it with the new graphics. It also allowed players to share and download creations. The official website also had contest and such (none that actually offered prizes if I remember right). All for free as advertisement.

Now the character creator in Saints Row the third and Saints Row IV are not as expansive as the one CoH had they are actually very good. Lots of clothing options (with more that can be earned in game or bought as DLC), individual sliders for body parts (including facial sliders...sounds dirty but isn't). As Saints Row IV had a very super power tilt to it a fair amount of costume parts are superhero themed. Interface is a bit odd but manageable.

I think the stand alone costume creator is still available on steam.... just search for 'Saints Row IV: Inauguration Station". As for the game itself....well its a very adult oriented game in its use of humor and story....but I don't think any of it is in the costume creator....unless there is a trailer...but I can't remember. So....fair warned....adult nature....

Sorry, but I have to disagree

Sorry, but I have to disagree with the whole concept. Contests for in-game awards will always be claimed as being fixed and bring little more than negative press to the game. Every contest you hold will have at least one immature member who thinks their costume was the best and should have won. Also, if you're suggesting a monetary compensation, how do you deal with entrants whose location forbids entry?

No. IMO, It would be best of you didn't even try.

If there's an issue (real or imagined) about the "awards" for these contests having any monetary value they could always run it like the @ Midnight TV show does and just sort of declare a "winner" with no actual prize associated with it. If it's all just "for fun" then there shouldn't be anything negative about it.
