Across the galaxy, the oppression of the Empire seems to be increasing. Bounty hunters are rampant with high rewards offered mostly by Empire controlled systems. Pockets of Rebels continue the struggle and build forces to plan another major attack.
The core systems have all but converted to Imperial government. The outer ring of systems still hold the best chance of hiding from the oppressive Empire. One of those planets, in the Orus system, Lafra , hides a base of rebel operatives. Their squadron called White Wing, (the name given to them by their painted white wing streaks) have become infamous for their raids on opposing shipping lanes and imperial strong holds.

Star wars
Kyra brought her A-wing into formation and listened to her squadron leader. "gold 3 ready to go". To her right there was another a-wing piloted by a rhodian, his name was Keeto. "eetum, gro balio, so weenum" Keeto spoke in Rhodian.
"yeah I know this sux" Kyra replied. "i want to know why its always us hanging around after the main assault." "towa do lo ledium" Is all he replied. His reply had a sneer inflected in it. "well if we have the most kills, I figure theyd let us head back in and give some others a shot at all the fun " she joked......
A B-wing flew by followed by two Y-wings forming another attack wing. "theres our heavy help" she said referring to the slower but more powerful fighters in their fleet" They were then joined by 6 x-wings , the staple fighter for the rebellion, and the one they had the most of. She glanced at her scanners and was watching the captured freighter start to list as it slowly sprang back to life. The shuttle that had docked with it already hyperspaced out of there. The remaining ships were there to provide escort if needed. They had captured another freighter bound for an imperial system. It was full of food and medical supplies, plus as a bonus they had found extra crates of weapons. the freighters escort were totally obliterated with little resistance. Kyra and Keeto were excellent pilots and could use their smaller , faster ships better than most. Kyra glanced down at her scope as it went off with a loud buzzing sound. "shit" is all she said as she quickly glanced out her canopy. The freighter was still powering up and couldn't make the jump yet. Her scanner buzzed louder as the imperial cruiser that just jumped out of hyperspace closed in. it launched its fighters..........
"Here we go" ...is all Kyra said as she and Keeto took up the point attack position.
Not waiting for orders, the Y-wing on the left rolled to put the cruiser directly in its plane, then turned to an intercept course. "Crimson two, on attack path," announced Rikki, the Zeltron pilot. She switched off the comm and addressed her gunner. "Only way that boarding party is gonna get that freighter out of here is if that cruiser gets crippled."
Rhysele Demara, a Cathar known to the squadron as "Speaker to Machinery", nodded. "Foraitch, arm the torpedoes, if you please. Then be ready to reset the shields." The droid behind her turret chirped in reply, and Rhysele made a last minute check of her turret and the ion cannons in it.

Kyra saw crimson 2 pull away and accelerate towards their target. She smiled slightly to herself as she said " Crimson two, Gold 4 and I will pave your way . Gold 3 out " She hit her thrusters and her A-wing shot ahead in a slight spin. Gold 4 followed and Keeto followed her spin maneuver but with opposite rotation.
The tie's launched accelerated towards them. 6 standard tie fighters....followed by 4 tie bombers with their escort, 4 tie interceptors. "shit" kyra yelled into her comm. "theyre going after the freighter. They intend to destroy it!!".....she knew the tie bombers were loaded to bear with everything from concussion missles to torpedoes. they were slow moving ships, much slower than their escort but could take a hit or two. Their escort was the tie interceptor. a sleeker more streamlined tie variant. they were designed for nothing else than fighter killers. They were faster than the rebels fastest ships, and fired 4 laser cannons compared to the standard tie's 2. They could be deadly if used by experienced pilots. ...That was their downfall, the empire threw anyone, no matter their experience into whatever position they saw fit. These pilots were no exception. they moved in using standard formation, obviously thinking as one big machine, not like the dogfighting-wingman tactics the rebels deployed time and again against superior numbers to achieve victory.
"oh and crimson 2, if you get a chance to disable one of those interceptors........" kyra added.... she was referring to the ability the ion cannons have of disabling a ship instead of destroying it. if hit enough it would just l\float dead in space to be recovered later. Kyra had a few ships in her small hangar, back at base. adding an interceptor would be a fine prize indeed.
"kolo weo na keemano" Keeto blurted through the comms. " of course we have to survive first" Kyra snapped back..."it seems I have more faith in us than you do!".......
The 2 awings worked in perfect unison and charged through the first wave of ties....Keeto even destroying one with a well timed and extremely accurate burst. They returned fire and scattered in the process. The 5 of them flying every which way trying to get an accurate shot on the two ships that just blew past them without receiving any damage.
Rikki followed the A-wings through, taking a snap shot with the lasers at one of the TIEs that strayed too close to straight ahead of her. The fighter lost one of its ion engines, halving her speed. Rikki checked the interceptors on her scanners, and compared their courses... the range would be long, but... "Speaker, that one interceptor on our side, I think you can get a couple shots at her."
Rhysele's tactical display showed a red caret under the icon in question. "Three, unless she changes course, Rikki. All it takes is timing that first shot... Less if she avoids us, more if she wants to play, of course."
Two of the of the TIEs took shots at the Y-wing, one missed and the other barely managed to penetrate both the shields and the armor. R2-4H sent a blast of coolant into the effected area and went to work restoring the shields to full strength. The TIEs didn't have time to focus, though, as the rest of Crimson Team was opening fire on them with both lasers and ion cannons. Lieutenant Murvee's B-Wing was slower than the Y-Wings, so the gap was opening, but he managed to destroy a second fighter.

Kyra pulled up and then performed a barrel roll to close in on one of the tie interceptors . Squeezing her trigger , the red flashes of energy shot from the front of her ship and shredded the port deflector and the tie started to spin uncontrollably. The bombers, even though they were slower, still were pulling away because of the straight line they were flying. All the maneuvers the awings flew were keeping them from closing with enough speed to catch them. Keeto angled his A-wing towards the bombers and started to steady his ship.... A ding sounded through his cockpit and a concussion missle streaked away from the fighter. It chased down a bomber with ease and exploded in its hull. The ship was torn to pieces.
"GO BA LIMO" Keeto shouted in celebration......Too early. His ship was pummeled from behind as two interceptors just raked it over with pulsing blasts from thier guns. His ship slowed and started to list. it was still moving with an engine burning, and the crooked way it moved through space made it an eerie sight to behold. Kyra was shocked when she witnessed this attack. "where did they come from?" she thought aloud. as she slammed her thrusters in full, and swung to meet the new threat. They were tie interceptors but thier paint scheme was different. One painted a blood red with black streaks, and the other was black as space itself with only a bluer line through the center. Jaycin Corvo brought his interceptor around and dodged the fire from kyra's A-wing. His red interceptor stood out as if to dare to be engaged. His wingman , a Trendosian who barley fit in the cockpit of the other ship. Rassk hissed and turned to chase down the other ships.
"Looks like they want to play," Rikki said. "Take all the shots you can, but we still have that date with the cruiser."
Rhysele grinned, baring her fangs, as she started firing. Moving to attack the A-wings had brought more interceptors closer, and she'd even have one shot at close range!
Behind them, the other Y-wing started firing their ion cannons as well, trying to hit the same target.

Rassk maneuvered his ship in behind an x-wing that had pulled up to attack one of the ties. He sqeezed the trigger and never missed. The x-wing exploded sending debris every direction. The hiss of approval came across his reptilian visage and he immediately went in on attack. Jaycin sneered as he saw his hand picked wingman do what he was famous for. Kill rebels. Rassk was a bounty hunter who had helped the empire on many occasions. He was part of a clan that was a major factor in the enslaving of kashyykk , and the subsequent supply of wookie slaves to the Empire. He hated the rebels and what they stood for. Freedom was something he felt wasn't deserved for lesser species, they should be subjugated. He wasn't overly fond of the imperial regime either. If it wasn't for Jaycin , he probably wouldn't even be here. Jaycin had worked with rassk many times in the past, so often infact that Jaycin learned to appreciate and even trust (for lack of a better word) the massive trendoshan.
This opp he needed him by his side. He asked him to fly one of the custom interceptors, Rassk agreed knowing the payment would be good, and hed get more for doing the job without exception. Jaycin dodged the ion fire from one of the y-wings and swung in behind it, letting off a burst before he dove and swung up avoiding another assaulting x-wing. Rassk attacked from the opposite side, veering wide and spraying a pattern of fire towards the same y-wing. He also then dove and scissored his agile fighter with Jaycin's.
Kyra was trying to hunt them down, and at least distract the two aces. She was failing.....they were wreaking havoc upon the rebels. The standard ties were swarming and the interceptors were becoming more aggressive. The tie bombers closed on the freighter, and launched.....Proton torpedoes started to track the lifeless hulk of the freighter.
Rhysele cursed as the interceptor passed out of range of her cannons, having evaded all of her shots before settling in to attack the X-Wings attempting to take out the TIE bombers. Rikki, meanwhile, had a firm lock on the cruiser. She launched all of her own proton torpedoes, and as she swung back around they were joined by torpedoes and missiles from the rest of Crimson Team. Hopefully the majority of them would get past the cruiser's defenses.
Without the torpedoes, the Y-wing had little chance against a cruiser's shields and armor. Against a TIE, though... She began firing her lasers at long range at the nearest interceptor, and was soon joined by Rhysele in the turret, then the rest of Crimson Team as they came back around from the attack run.

The torpedoes from the tie bombers closed then hit the freighter. With no shields , it was an easy kill. It wretched and twisted before finally ripping apart. Debris scattered from it, some of it moving fast took out a couple of the escape pods launching from it as the few rebels that braved the task of trying to get it repaired and hyperspaced away in time , were now escaping the doomed ship.
The ties danced around the other swarm of torpedoes and missles from crimson squad trying in vain to destroy them. They slammed into the cruiser, first hitting only shields as the explosions were muffled by a faint glow, then the second volley hit hull. the warheads penetrated armor, and one even found its way through the armor to impact near the bridge. Massive explosions now echoed all through out the ship as it listed slowly. It was hit hard, harder than it should have been. The skill fromn crimson's shots ,they knew exactly where to hit them, was what the rebels needed to sway the battle, or at least buy time.
The ties that remained swung back into more of a defensive pattern, and two were destroyed by the few remaining x-wings. Jaycin and Rassk pressed the attack still. They had nearly destroyed one of the y-wings , (they hadn't counted on its boosted shields), and the wounded ship, having unleashed its missles, was a slower juicy target, struggling to keep up with the rest of crimson.
Rikki's long range shots seemed to track, and hit home. The center pod was torn by the blasts and the tie interceptor spun widly out of control as it verred sharply and away. The ion blasts hit home as well, and standard tie slowed and stopped firing as the electrical ion energy crackeled its way through the ship.
