Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.

I am still hashing out Arch. He is heavily based on my favorite Hero I used to RP. Trying to really nail down his look beyond the gigantic amounts of scrap metal. So ignore any picture post currently up =P
Defensively he is about as upper-echelon as it goes. He can take a tank shelling and keep on moving.
Offensively he could tear into that tank in about 2 minutes. Impressive, but mid tier.
His motivation is what keeps him a low ranking super. He will only fight as hard as it takes to win, and will often stop fighting to repair damage to structures and things, or let the villain go because they simply doesn't currently pose a threat (or no longer do).

Okay what you are seeing with John Doe.
The Symbiotic life form is a collective able to absorb energy on it's own. However earth atmosphere is harmful to the organism so it needs a host. Hence the body of a homeless man it inhabited. The creature natural environment is space where it would absorb heat and radiation directly from suns. The possess of inhabiting Johns body caused the Amnesia the alien cells integrating themselves in the brain.
In other words when Lady Nova powered up it was like putting a bag of Halloween candy in front of a 2 year old.

What I find interesting is I didn't make John / Parasite (really need a name for the collective) as evil. A bit untrained and tad anti-hero but not a bad guy. Hence why he fed off of a thug and not a innocent. There is a reason for this the alien not 100% in control.

Arch will eventually notice the tiny heroes.
It takes him awhile to respond to situations. He spends a large amount of time contemplating if what he is doing is the right move. Very reactive not proactive. He wouldn't actually register a large noise that wasn't a 'danger' noise as anything to remember or process on. The lack of lungs meant he was simply oblivious to the air being restricted.
I'm waiting for the right situation to come to fruition so he can address the fey and flying felines. Arch likes children/animals far more than 'adult' characters.

I'm trying to find a link to an Online comic Arch reminds me of. It's about a man who lost his family due to a fight between a Hero and a Villain. He builds a power suit much like Ironman's but doesn't join the heroes or villains he only gets involved to prevent harm of the Civilians.

arch is far larger than that diminutive man =P
.... I figure with so many people playing characters new to Titan City I would go the opposite direction with Arch. A character that basically has wandered the streets non stop trying to do small but good deeds since coming to the city a long time ago. His overall refusal to help solve big problems that don't immediately affect the communities he patrols aggravates the larger global scale super groups. He could do so much more than he does to help.
His overall huge size and rusted out slag heap armor makes his appearance that of a mad scientists greatest creation.... and civilians who were not born in the neighborhoods Arch frequents are rather gun shy about trusting something that looks like a walking war machine and sounds like a mixture of a coal train and broken grandfather clock at the same time.

I don't know if anyone has seen the backstory of Sea Holly, but I'm thinking of putting her here, if that's alright. To give a general overview, she is bipolar with one original side being a ruthless mercenary for hire and normally wants nothing to do with super heroics and cheesy villany and all those. Her other side, on the other hand, is a straight-up heroic and polite woman who is comparably soft spoken. She was a dual-build Arachnos Widow in CoX, so all she has is high level of assassination training and, exclusive to her other side, mild psionics. Will that be okay?

Few things about Arch:
1) He doesn't speak, doesnt even have a mouth... His first recorded entry at city hall listed him as "A humanoid shaped mechanized pile of scrap metal" Over the years the various city police districts have affectionately coined him the "POS". They promise it was just shorthand for pile of scrap. Not one cop that walks the same beat Arch patrols calls him that. Those districts call him "The watch". The 'inner' group of cops who grew up around Arch call him "stickers".
2)This leads the majority of people from Titan City to call him POS... with those who moved into his neighborhoods calling him 'watch'... and those who grew up in his neighborhood calling him 'stickers' ... while his name is Arch... welcome to confusion for anyone not from Titan City. =P
2a) Arch will respond to you no matter what you call him, it will just take him a fashionably late amount of time... because thats Arches speed... slow and extra slow.
3) Anyone not from Titan City who isn't a history buff wouldnt know Arch. Arch is capable of Hulk like feats... but due to his oriins is incapable of recognizing the bigger picture and helping the whole world. Most the world sees this as him not caring, which isnt the truth, just a perception due to how Arch acts... Arch looks evil, and angry. Civilians visiting Titan City often run away from him. Titan City tour groups have learned to schedule tours opposite Archs' typical patrol hours.
Once more districts get mapped out I hope to come up with Archs' route... The path he has walked for years and years. The older the district the more likely Arch patrols it.
It is very uncommon to find Arch outside one of the old districts. 9/10 if he is outside an old district he is walking to a scrap metal yard.
If your character grew up in, or moved to one of those areas feel free to include him in back stories. If Arch does anything beyond being the giant shambling thing that walks around fixing stuff and leaving stickers for kids please let me know. Arch doesn't usually "defeat" enemies, so for him to throw a punch or become aggressive is a rather big deal.
Arch doesn't overly care about adults hurting adults. So long as stuff isn't broken and kids arn't hurt he might let certain crimes go... They just don't register with him as something to stop.
I am still hammering out his origins. He is actually a mystical construct, so he doesn't have a 'brain' so to speak. The magic that created him created the laws that govern him. The laws can be bent, but never broken. The laws are also going to not all mesh perfectly, and have been written with haste which is why Arch is how he is.

So Arch is a more like a Metal Golem then a Robotic Machine. He might know my Scrap yard owner and his Rusty Robot. If I could pay for the perk to own a place it be a Scrap yard.

most my alts get deleted simply because they evolve into something I dont overly want.
Id say my character pool starts at about 50 general ideas right now.
As I rp them out I will find out who I want to toss and who I wanna keep. Since the rp area is so new I broke out my 2 primaries. Even Arch is currently evolving from what he was in CoH into a new entity for CoT... A few basic personality traits are the same, but as I shift the back story of him into CoT his motivations shifted a bit.

I done the same Steam. Rotten and John Doe were two of my top characters in CoH. Of course I couldn't let John be a War shade so it changes the very fabric of his being. Rotten on the other hand is loosing the hero aspect from CoH. Oh he fighting right now for good but it's more to fight something then to save the day.

Sea Holly is actually the first villain I've played in CoH and I kinda molded her own personality as I learn more about human behavior and how people view morality in a pragmatic aspect. The other side is a way for me to explore value dissonance while not having to resort to making a different alt. After all, it's not everyday where you'll find someone who's perfectly friendly, amicable, generally benevolent and likes to have fun, but won't hesitate to reduce any enemies that stand in her way into the consistency of a chunky salsa sauce.

Alaika that's much the same reason I started Rping. I don't grasp social behavior so went to RPing to try to figure it out. Came to an understanding I don't grasp body language and social clues. Now I Rp for fun and to get some satisfaction form of socializing.

- ...having the propensity to do a little too much property damage or employing more than necessary force has caused her to be on 'the wrong side of the law' on more than one occasion...still, she's no stranger to Downtown and can be most commonly seen at the Court House reporting completion of the rather numerous 'Community Service' tasks the City generally levies against her in the rather futile hope that she'll stop being so 'exuberant' when fighting crime (...she actually doesn't mind doing Community Service, though, as it's as justifiable to her to help clean up the community as cleaning the clocks of the criminally inclined!...). ^_^

i figure since Arch has gone beyond the Downtown limits I would introduce my "Ranger" .
So here comes Melody "Sound Storm" Ritter. Overall an average high school student new to having powers. Her body amplifies sounds that originate from inside her turning it into various elemental weather effects based on the music... Melodies personal favorite being fire. Not something that pleases her father since their family is known for producing generation after generation of rain dancers.
Mel rejects that idea. She is modern and has found that instead of "chanting like some psycho" to slowly gather rain clouds as a dancers moving to her own sound she can pop in some ear buds, crank the tunes, pop her hip and wammo... instant Avatar state. At least as far as creating projectiles and field effects... She cant figure out how to fly yet since she has to dance while music emits from her in order to create the elements.
Elements produced:
Rock music = fire
Classical music = earth
EDM (techno) = wind
and oddly... Pop = water... at least for Melody.
It might not be dignified... but "barbie girl" from Aqua has saved more than a few farmers fields from drought.

I wasn't really pleased with how Shen Zao was playing out, so I removed him from the picture. I'm going to have to take him back to the drawing board.
This new guy's been training for close to a year, since his powers manifested, but he is still very much a rookie and doesn't even have a name yet.
As for his powers, Armor from the X-men + Spidey + Energy Melee = this guy.

Lol Had to make a quick change to my post after seeing yours Alaika. I had wrote Theodore ordering some of the pirates to take hostages so needed to change it so he would notice one of them went down.
There are two more hostages and two bombs. Some gas that -acc and detection to anyone within. Theodore is a Duel Blade Scrapper style with quick reflexes so he's going to be moving and running a lot. You also face Three Tanker Boss level Boiler-Borgs. Have fun Mah Ha ha ha!

Good addition Steam! Also shows that the Airship not something to be ignored or more to the point taken on mindlessly. My next post about the Pirates will be the Airship taking off and how it would be Suicide to attack it. For the longer story line the Orb needed to be taken. Thought I did have a backup if the heroes stop it. Over all I think I laid it out that logically the escaping Pirate will reach the air ship and get away.

Sorry about that post, Luck. It's a bit sudden. Thanks for clarifying about the Pirates' escape. Since Holly's not a super (Widow Claw Arachnos Widow), she wouldn't be able to go after the ship even if she wanted to. Speaking of which, have any of you ever wondered how those Arachnos Widows actually see what's in front of them with that full-face helmet and all? It looks cool, but I couldn't help but wonder about it.
Also, 'Holly' and 'Sea' refers to the two facets of personality. At this point, she's 'Sea' the mercenary, not 'Holly' the budding heroine.
BTW, Sea Holly is the name of a real plant and that is the clue to her real name. XD

Sorry im not the most engaging character at this point, but I really can only get on here while im at work. So depending on my work, im not able to jump in every day. Im in Iraq, so that makes the timing the time change difficult to coordinate too.
I got my character on the ship without defeating or aiding anyone yet, so I haven't contributed anything or taken anything from the story yet. My character in COX was a sword/shield brute with a bunch of AOE/PBAOE attacks, so overwhelming odds are kind of his thing. This also would not be the first time ive gotten in over my head and had to retreat.

Okay the Orb thing is a magical orb of Norse origins. It's a Necromancer's tool to create draugar. Side note It's the same artifact that created my character Rotten Luck. It is possible if some evil force got hold of said orb to enslave Rotten as well as create more Undead supernatural followers. *Eyes Lord Nightmare*
That was the idea for the guy that hired the Pirates he was going to use the orb to turn Titan City into a Necropolis then world domination!
Of course he needed the orb first. Now I have to figure out what you guys can expect on that floating battle ship.

lol, clearly you didn't prepare based on character rp power level =P
it might be cool for us to use the champions / heroes.... whatever its called, the free rulesets for generating a superhero for pnp (i tend to dnd not superhero pnp... so forgive my memory lapse on what the system is called)
have everyone roll up a character in that system. Letting us decide if we are an A,B,C, or D rank hero / villain based on which point total we use.
i had planned on Mel waking up in the hospital and pursuing the pirates while the trail was going cold. But Avatar state Mel is amusing me... still very mortal, with normal people weaknesses, but an A level offensive power. Basically a Fire/Storms corruptor.
no nightmare, didnt ignore it. she just wasnt in a receptive state.... think about 2 subwoofers playing a rock band and classical composition into your ears at the same time... your own thoughts get drowned out by the sheer uneveness happening at insanely high volumes.

My only experience in PnP was Vampire the Masquerade, even then I had a bad GM running things. Thought I read up on stuff looking for a good newbie friendly PNP so open for advice. I have however a lot of experience in chat room and forum RPs.

basically you could ooc post the airships stats, the bosses stats, and the typical henchmen stats... then the rp'ers would know how to react to each situation based on perceived danger level vs what their character can handle.
Example:
Lets say Mel has a typical human resistance to physical harm.. 1d6 for quick maths.
Arch would have more like 22d6 resistance to physical harm.
However.. Mels extensive AOE and status effect changes causes her offensive powers to be worth far more than Arch who basically has super strength punches and some minor electrical aoe
So if Mel is freaking out and throwing say 5d6 fireballs all over the place Arch might be a bit cautious, but overall he can walk into the fire so to speak.
However if Mel charges up and say does a napalm fire breath at 12d6... There is a chance Arch could lose his roll and get seriously messed up... but odds are in his favor.
Arch would be listed as my A level hero... with nearly everything pumped into his defense. (muhahaha tank) While Mel is a low level B ranking vigilante mostly AoE and DoT/Debuffs.
Red is my A level villain (brute) regen/weapons, While Sandy is my C level merc (Speedster) claws/evasion
With say.. dick tracy being a D ranker in terms of power and ability.
Superman would be a AAA hero

Well I did state that Theodore was an EB classed dual wield reflex. However logically he wouldn't be able to dodge a firestorm. The Airship we don't know what they look like or damage dealing abilities. We do know they are large enough to hold a crew of over 100. We can assume they look either like a Zeplin or something like this.

However I will be reading up on that Hero system and designing farther adventures/threats/Terrors with that system in mind. for now say the baddies get harder going closer to the bridge. Feel free to add detail you like like I said attacking the ship was not what I was thinking.

yeah, murder some trees!
so many rules in the heroes system. I have been so tired I havent really been able to sit down and think of something fun to use it for that isnt a chore. Basically how to cheat sheet the hero system so players can allocate their points quickly and easily for comparison.
I think I will end up doing the full process with my minagere of characters since I have a decent power level spread from Robin to a few rungs below Superman.
Take a few of the characters in the downtown RP...
Mel is a Storm from x-men at about 50% the power due to disadvantages
Arch is Colossus defense with Forges ability at creating stuff
Id put:
Nova on par with Powergirl or Supergirl
Unknown at a beastboy level
Sea at a catwoman level
Tyrian a Conan the destroyer
Ashling kind of spawn-lite
Nightmare an Ironman with some minor telepathic powers
buuuut I could be way off, its just based on how I am reading the characters. So my Mel has no hopes of actually standing up for herself if Nova crashes her party, since Novas defenses are at a Superman level and Mels offense is while Aang the Avatar impressive... not going to take out superman, maybe slow him down, but superman eventually gets through anything.
Now Arch could most likely go punch for punch with Nova, different offensive/defensive looks, but Nova has additional aoe and speed Arch doesnt possess.
And in the other RP I am currently in.... Red would have killed Mel about 12 minutes into Mel freaking out... because Red is a psychopath with teleportation and expert level spear combat.
