Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.
It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.

I just want to say that while tech updates like the anniversary bonus are totally schwing-inducing, I love these lore updates and the richness and depth they ad to the world and the storytelling.
I can't wait to weave my old, familiar heroes into the new tapestry of this lore.
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
Okay, I'm liking the looks of Tyrosine, because it feels like a company, not a company-shaped mass of evil. Unlike Crey from CoH, which was pretty obviously evil, to the point of having armored guards around and having a disaster zone named after them. Other evil companies that come to mind (Lex corp) don't seem to do much other than fund their supervillain via magically conjuring money out of the economy. Tyrosine, however, seems like a real company, with real products, that legitimately exists and is well-liked. In fact, the company itself seems to be non-evil: no mention of buyouts, participating in espionage, or patent hogging. This appears to be a completely normal company with some conspiracy theorists. For all we know, it's legit at the top, too: Sure, there's a few kinks in the sister's history, but nothing that seems to be a big, black spot. This might be a completely above-broad company with some overeager middle managers.
I feel like, if Tyrosine were to fall apart, people would miss it. Sure, mainly rich people and advanced farmers, but still. I even like Tyrosine more than I liked Czerka from the Knights of the Old Republic games: Czerka was also a big, legitimate company. Sure, it was bloated and unusually corrupt, but it did some good. Now, in Kotor you respected Czerka because sometimes it felt like the galaxy was held together with Czerka-brand staples, but still.
Really looking forward to what might be done with Tyrosine. If done well, this could be amazing.

I'm also liking this Tyrosine, for many of the same reasons Lost Deep gives. I can see lots of different kinds of missions leaking out from this place.

There is a lot of potential with such an approach that most games and stories miss. Large entities, from corporations to government institutions, are portrayed as either good or evil. Even when there is corruption within the entity, it's almost always something can be neatly eradicated or expunged. It'd be interesting if there were stories / arcs that supported NPCs (and even PCs!) who judged the whole barrel to be rotten due to a few bad apples.
And, really, how would a super-powered being who is all about the honor, but isn't too fussed about the law, deal with most corporate antics? How many corporations make, or have made, some big bucks by toeing the line of "it may be wrong, but it ain't against the law"?

This should be interesting.
ARE they evil? Or just morally ambiguous (I expect that from most comic based companies). IF they aren't 'evil', per se, are there factions within that are? While the CEO might not be Norman Osborn, do we have an enterprising Dick Jones (I just watched the original Robocop, yesterday) who employs the seedy, criminal underbelly of the city to further his own goals and ambitions?
Sounds to me like it's a great company to use in your 'origin' story.

Now this is the kind of lore I have been waiting for, the Official handbook of the Marvel Universe type which gives bio on groups and individuals lurking within the game. This is what gets me pumped more than ( and no offense) content stories with character who may or may not be even in the game. I like information about bosses and underlings and the motivation behind them. I like sheets with what, where, how and why they are doing what they are doing, they either have a public face hiding a alliterative motive, or why two groups are going to war for what ever reason. I want to know of the individual criminal and what gets them up each day to commit crimes and their origins.
Keep this coming please.

It's rare that any individual believes they're evil as usually there is some higher purpose that they some how use to justify the inhumane actions.
On that note, I really like the more subtle approach to this corporation which is a few steps back from Crey whom we loved to hate. God I hated them. :D
And indeed it is awesome to see this lore start coming out. I'm already looking around for fellow super heroes and making plans within plans. Anyone know where a lore wiki would be for COT or is it too early for that?

One *very* important clarification...
The Cheat Sheet was [b][i]not[/i][/b] created by Beamrider (a dev), but by SteamTank (not a dev).
As far as a wiki, well, the DevWiki is a massive beast of a thing, and only an insane person would try to memorize it all....
A public facing wiki is not in the works from the dev perspective, at least as far as I know.
However, we have been supplying you with a wealth of background information, though some of it requires more attentive reading than others.
Our "What You Know About" series (such as this one about Tyrosine) will be continuing at least until Launch (yes, we do have that many things that we can tell you), but there will also be other lore updates as well.

Yeah, I occasionally post in the "cheat sheet" thread, but I didn't create it and the only info I've put onto it is from the one KS update that I wrote (and by that I mean I put the info in the update; a non-dev read it and entered it onto the cheat sheet).
SpaceMoose and I are the admins on the DevWiki; trust us,there's too much there for anyone to keep in their head. We use SemanticWiki and other tricks to pull charts of info together for the other devs when they need overviews of info that's spread out all over the place, try to keep pages linked well enough that people can find what they need, and make suggestions on the dev chats from time to time (although the actual Continuity people do more of that).

I forgot to comment on this development back when I saw it. I find the portrayal of this organization interesting. You can't legitimately tell if these guys experiment with some form of hallucinatory drugs or they do have supernatural monsters or individuals deep in there buildings. The fact that they take espionage very seriously and that the people that have tried to do it ended up coming out babbling about odd things they saw makes them very suspicious under the surface
I am getting an Umbrella type of vibe in regards to them. Makes me wonder if they do a lot of cover ups....
