Ohh... i think i still have the whole Ghost Rider "Rise of the Midnight Sons" in my box(es) of Comics. :D
On the update: great job! I love the format, seems similar to the late night, minus some comedy.
On a side note, what's an inker?

Hell yea! I loved the COH comics and I'm sure these comics will be awesome!
Whoo hoo! Oh Desviper an Inker could also be considered a Finisher. After the rough penciled artwork is done an Inker goes in cleans it up adds shadow lines. They are the ones that add the black ink lines.

I've written the #0 issue or whatever we end up calling it numberwise, and have roughly set up an arc idea for the first year of the ongoing. Whether I actually get to write it all depends a lot on how much time and energy my new teaching job ends up taking this Fall.

HUGE congrats, Tigs! You're amazing, and I'm so glad you're on board for this. Big hugs and loves!

Ok - I feel I need to say this. I'm taking my usual filter off, so brace yourselves.
This Project Update is for me, the very best one so far.
Mr. Darin "Tiger" Calhoun ....well, let's be honest. Well, I'll be honest. I can certainly tell the difference between his first efforts and his next effort. The tutelage did him good. Those Marvel covers were absolutely amazing! But - even more amazing is his story. His rise from the ashes, figuratively speaking. What a great, encouraging, inspiring story. All he needed was a radioactive rod to hit him in the head during that accident and he could be Daredevil!
Seriously, great update, and great, no, make that exceptional artist. I stopped reading comics a very long time ago (when the mutant ninja turtles came out) but I may be reading them again if Mr. Calhoun can write half as well as he can draw.
Blessings to all.

Nomtastic news, Tiger! Of course, I already *knew* that your work was top-flight!
*purrs throatily while stretching out a bit and covering *both* of Tiger's hands*

If this leads to official publishing in the CoT-verse I'd be VERY interested in knowing if you're interested in expanding the brand (at a later date biensure)

Yep, the cat is out of the box. And I wont be doing the comic alone. We've put together an awesome crew. Chris Hare, @Warcabbit, is our Editor-in Chief, Dave Van Domelen, @dvandom, a physics professor and comic book writer who learned from Chris Priest, and Adam Warren. Last but not least, is our newest member all the way from Torino, Italy, "Max" Massimo Moda, http://mmdev.deviantart.com/ who will be our colorist.
The style of the book will be similar to Hurricane Atlas, but will lean toward the style of Adi Granov.
Yes I have...and it still haunts me! 0_0
Thank you all, the Comic Team and I, appreciate the love!
I'd say about 1/4 as good as I can draw. :)
Yep, we met and he liked my work. Tim Vigil had just left to do Faust and he was looking to replace him, but I was far below Tim's level at that time. My work ending up as a part of an anthology and I was paid in comics...no, really.
We would love to have a Titanverse of comic books, but first we'll start with one and branch out from there. There will be contests in the future for the community to participate in the making of this Titanverse. We will have more details as soon as we hammer them out and they pass the Legal Department.
Now you will have to excuse me. I have to go chain myself to my art desk and get my page done or Warcabbit is going to thump me.
Well, "learned from" may oversell it a bit. I've had the advantage of corresponding with Priest and getting to see his scripting process, and I've been following Adam Warren in various social media for a while...he does a lot of talking about process.
This will be the first thing I've written to get turned into a full comic (I wrote a single page of Rabid Monkey #10), but I've gotten a few pro credits here and there, including on White Wolf's "Adventure!" game (I wrote the Journal of Dr. Primoris). And, of course, I've easily passed the million word mark in my writing for rec.arts.comics.creative (http://www.eyrie.org/~dvandom/ASH for a big chunk of that).

Of course, I always took the scene to be about how laymen don't necessarily understand how important/involved a job actually is. Like how many people without a musical background will scoff at what a drummer brings to a band.
Anyway, grats on the comic gig, I look forward to reading them.

Hey don't know if y'all noticed but pretty sure you didn't mean to do this.
" Tiger: That's when I found City of Heroes. I used video games to stay active as part of my rehabilitation. And City of Heroes was a big part of that. I also started writing a book for the same reason. It took me seven years to finish. By then I'd also regained my ability to draw.

Puny Heroes.
Grats Tiger!
Blue also says Grats BTW
I liked the 'In the Spotlight' format. It sparkled! It had pizzazz! It had that 'it' factor! And I don't even know what an 'it' factor is, but it had it!
Growing up, I was a big fan of DC and Marvel comics, but the small publishers (Comico, Malibu, Eclipse, AC, Capital) always held a special place in my weekly stack of comics, especially GMC. I'm looking forward to seeing a City of Titans comic.
I kept thinking about hopping in and getting involved with making a CoT comic. It's very nice to see a pro artist going on board with this! :) And from one artist to another, thanks for those images, Tiger! It was super cool to see the difference between your older stuff and newer stuff! ^.^ What a wonderful update! I fully plan to collect the comic. Soooo looking forward to this!
Please tell me it's going to be an ongoing comic and won't just end at issue 12? Granted, if you are going as far as to possibly do spinoffs, that tells me you plan to go as long as the comic can, but I wanted to be sure. :)
Longevity will depend on a lot of factors, many of which I can't even begin to predict (such as, will I be able to keep up the writing once I start my new job, and if not, will we be able to find a suitable replacement?). It's intended to be ongoing in the usual sense of the word, but the usual sense is "until cancelled."

That error's only in the KS version of the update. The version posted here on the site is complete and without error (at least of that size). Link's in the OP (and you can't edit a KS post after the first half hour, so we can't fix it now anyway).

Ah alright. I just wanted to do a poke to make sure. Keep up the good work!
Puny Heroes.
It will go on for as long as the community wants. Without all of you, there is no book, but with your support, there are no limits on how big the Titanverse can grow.
Awesome :)
No new info ;P
I was already pretty privy to your situation Tigs, but congrats on the badge of officialness, finally :)

You're sure you want us associating you with that comic?
Granted that was 20 years ago and all, well almost...
Please tell me the CoT comics will at least have better proofreading so THEY don't end up getting ripped apart down the line? Four typos on page 1...

Congrats big T!!!
P.s. My childhood friend has that morbius issue you post in the interview. Awesome stuff! Still remember being frightened by that comic, see I was very good catholic boy in my youth so I avoided anything "dark" but I couldn't stop flipping through that comic even if it scared me stiff :p

A: Oh my god. What a fantastic Blackarachnia series. Great work. #2 is especially good, it's clearly the TM2.
B: Hey, at least it got to TGWG.

Well, given that at some point my retired-English-teacher mother will be seeing these, I'd better HOPE no typos slip through! (I do anticipate some style/usage chiding, but that will mainly be stuff that's genre convention and defensible on such grounds.)

The Wild was a caffeine-fueled dream of two, twenty something year old, artists. Nowadays, I leave the grammar and diction to my editors.
I will note that Linkara does state that the comic is essentially a mixed bag. "This comic sucks, but it's also kind of awesome."
It's a review, and he has to accent the negative in order to be able to praise the positive aspects. The video is worth a watch in either case.
