Questions

Are you those jeans a new spandex option or do they go over spandex?

If they're spandex, does that mean the top/bottom torso cutoff line got adjusted on the model? I was hoping that area of the model would get improved to work better with belts.

These one's are on a mesh, but yes you can add some stuff ontop, I have spandex jeans in the works as well.. those will allow you even more freedom for layering. :) I left the belt off these with adding belts in mind.
Some coming will have belts included.

I suppose that is what's great about a superhero game; you can have robots and power armor and medieval knights, all of which use armor of varying aesthetics.

I have many non tech arnors i

I have many non tech armors and pieces i am working on, i just happen to like the tech stuff. Also keep in mind these armors are like anything else, They can be section off, so you can use the upper or lower in a costume.

@TitanCity Right now i am mainly working on NPC outfits and patterns, This can include hats and other accessories. The armor was a fun thing to do, Helps to keep things from getting to stale.

Like i have said in my vids, i don't show everything, i'd like to keep some things a surprise :)

Things are looking good with what your doing. I was curious though before to many accessories are added/created can we expect some work on the base character models (the knee joint being a glaring issue for me). Seems like it will add a lot of work to have to go back and recheck sizing, stretching and clipping if the base character model gets a lot of work (which isn't your department as I understand it but will impact how things look). Love the last few video's and the possible combinations.

I am not the one in charge of the model it self, i just make stuff for it.. best to ask in the discord tech channel :)

We've (these forums) heard MWM's P.R. reps say on more than one occasion that changes were coming to the base model. Notably the weird, cocked wrists and I believe something about either the waist or the heck.

It's been so long since they've said that, like over a year, and the wrist position has been there for so long that I dunno what to believe in regards to base model changes anymore.

Umm?. I have not looked at the recommended thread, BUT what i can tell you i have been working on a load of patterns using patterns from another "well-known Super Hero MMORPG" :)

Hey Everyone,

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, and no videos, I have been very busy with real life stuff, and the stuff i am now working on for the game is a bit more time consuming, which means it takes longer to do, And with the limited time i do have to work on stuff, it's a challenge for sure.
BUT!, i do have a couple pieces i would like to show you, I have recently made the transition to ZBrush, Which if you know anything about ZB, it's UI is a mess, and takes time to learn, not to mention learning to sculpt which is something i have never done. So The pieces below are still a WIP
but they are where i am comfortable with showing them, these are from the NPC faction The Rooks. AFAIK at some point they will be avail for players, but i don't have the details on the time line. I wanna say a special thanks to those that have stuck with me on my Youtube and other social Media.
I promise i will become more active again soon, and start doing BTC vids again, Till then... Enjoy.

Of course now that you've shown us you can do a decent pair of jeans you've opened up the Pandora's Box to all the different styles that are possible:

It might get to the point where you could sell an entire clothing expansion pack just for jeans. Naturally you'll have to charge twice as much for the pre-distressed styles. ;)

All joking aside even CoH eventually managed to provide several styles of pants. Hopefully CoT will have options for "straight", "skinny" and "flared" styles at the very least.

P.S. Not to leave your skirt out I'd also be looking forward to being able to do a shorter "leather mini" version of that.

Already on it, those are the first of many i am working on :) That skirt will get masked out, you won't even see the lower section, we make our base meshes longer, so we can use them for multi pieces.The sear amount of costume pieces we have planned for the game... well they are just to numerous to fathom LOL!..

There needs to be a good balance struck between the time and effort being spent on making "hyper-detailed" items versus simply making sure we have a large number of "standard" quality items to choose from. I hope I'm making myself clear with all this. Getting a bunch of great looking options should always be the goal, but I'd be fine with getting plenty of utilitarian level items as well just to make sure there are LOTS of choices available.

We have a quality cap, I will only go so far on details, because honestly, other the the time in the AB, you spend 90% of the time seeing the smaller ver in game, so all those details will be moot.

Thanks for the response and extra info. I do like what you've shown us and clearly you have a good eye for details. I posted that concern because I personally tend to suffer from a streak of "perfectionism" that often makes me spend too much time focusing on tiny details that might not be needed or appreciated to finish a given task. I simply didn't want you guys to fall into that same kind of trap when it comes to your overall costume item output. :)

Those shorts were way to wrinkly in the back imho, they just didn't look normal which make them kind of off putting. Just take a quick google search on shorts on women and you will see they shape to the butt and any wrinkles(pulled material) would be found where the cheeks meet the legs and the small pulls at the seam between cheeks.

Don't worry guys, I make the important observations. ;D

Tight pants/shorts will have different wrinkle patterns depending on the type of material they're made of. I think ArtStrong was working on the idea of tight leather pants which will show different wrinkles than what tight denim will produce.

That said I do like the "less wrinkly" examples Cooltastic provided and would prefer my characters' clothes to have less wrinkles (especially across their derrières) even if that's not strictly realistic. I generally like the level of detail ArtStrong is shooting for but I think it's more important for the clothes in this game to "look good" than for them to have a bunch of life-like details that are actually unflattering.

Keep up the great work bud, I also love all the details! Was just making an observation.

Also, a few questions:

The belt that you were adding to these shorts. Will this be part of the shorts, or a belt option included under belts?

I feel like attaching certain accessories to clothing items limits it's use. Say I want to use those particular shorts for a cowgirl, but want to add a belt with a western buckle. I can't do that because a belt is already apart of the shorts. This limit's customization.

If pants/shorts need custom fit accessories(belts) would it be worthwhile to have an Accessory menu to these clothing types to change out how they look? Like different belt styles, or adding different bucklets, adding chains wrapped around, etc. Could add Accessories to Patterns and Details location of costume piece.

I saw your question is the discord, and i had a chat with someone internal about it.

The Shorts i am working on in the vid are a NPC only version, so most likely i will be making a version with no belt so it can have diff belts and accessories added in the AB Most NPC stuff from what i under stand will have player versions.. MOST! not all.

I love the level of detail you've shown us so far in your costumes. Please keep up the good work. ;)

I was just trying to make the point that there can be a difference between "perfect real life detail" and "what looks attractive". We all know that even real life models are often photoshopped to cover up the "problems" caused by real life clothing. So for this game I'd rather see items that look good on our characters even if they're simplified/modified from how they'd work/look on real life people, if that makes sense.

Just saw your most recent video, and I noticed some changes to the Paragons.:

Here is the original art we had (taken from the City of Titans website):

compare it to the concept art you showed and I notice some changes. First, I like Memory's new costume. I think the half-cape is a nice addition. But the biggest change is Anthem. I thought Anthem's costume was absolutely phenomenal before. But I do like her new costume better. The use of grey not as crisp looking, but the transition from the design of the top down to the crotch flap gives it a more heroic appeal. Also the iconic eagle-wing arm is now just a gold arm with some eagle stamped on it. That makes me sad. Was that a feasibility issue with the character model? The other big change with Anthem is her new physique. And while I think it is appropriate to give our lead Paragon muscles, I would have expected and preferred a more comic book style of muscle like She-Hulk

than the Abby-like physique in the new concept art you revealed.

In fact, I wonder why a deliberate effort was made to change her physique so drastically now. I honestly thought Anthem had been changed to a man when I saw it, (Just compare her body to Particle and they're identical) until you called her a she in your video. I would not think it wise to deviate too far from the comicbook styleguide for the number one Paragon in a superhero game.
[EDIT: I took a look at anthem again just now and I realize it was repainted over the same silhouette as the one before, so there probably isn't a change in her physique. It just looked like there was, probably because of the eagle that was there and the wide neck and jawline. So please disregard my comments regarding Anthem's physique. I'm not deleting my comments above for transparency purposes.]

And lastly, I like the addition of the Bulldog Brawler, or whatever name you end up calling him. He looks pretty badass.
