I was pondering... and pondering... How can we express more Adult themes as part of the Lore under a T for Teen rating?
I recall watching Farscape TV series, and trust me they CUSSED like nobodies business and still had a TV-14 rating. HOW THE HELL? :o
Well, the cussing wasnt really done in English. Or any know language to be honest.
Instead, they made up words to represent the FRELL Ones. ;)

I found that using their own vocabulary gave farscape a unique feel and added a lot to the charm of it. They used that quite excessively and it helped that the aliens really seemed alien, while at the same time everyone knew exactly what they were saying.
Since City of Titans is based in an alternative reality rather close to our own it would have to be used scarcely, but it could (and I think should) be done, especially to underline the differences. So there could be some terms in use regarding superpowered beings and titan city specific things, but a slang word for "hour" would seem off.
But its been more than a century since the Mole People hid deep underground to escape in their Bunkers. Now the're Back and Hate what has become of their world and they want to Change it. But that's another story. The kids grew up and came up with their Own Slang words.
One of them was "Toc" meaning Time, as well as "Tic" meaning Second, and "Bec" meaning Hour. (Bec originating from Break.. most likely how long they had for Lunch-time.) ;)
I'd make a weird, involuntary vocalisation that couldn't decide if it was a swear or not, like "FUGBAR!" or "DAYGUNT!"
